SaRoi Brown
I started practicing Yoga in a college class twenty years ago. Although my practice has not always been consistent over the years, Yoga has remained a safe space for me to return to. I got my law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul in 2011 and started practicing law with the mission to make a difference in the world, to serve others, for justice and humanity. However, in 2023, I made the very difficult decision to step away from the practice of law to reconnect with myself, my family, and my purpose. After years of wondering if I could be a Yoga teacher, I took the leap last September and began a nine-month Holistic Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Sanctuary, an amazing nonprofit yoga studio in Minneapolis offering holistic accessible Yoga to all bodies. Through that transformative program, I am now (as of May 2025) a certifiedYoga teacher, and I am so excited to share all that I have learned. Yoga has become an essential part of my own trauma healing journey, allowing me to calm my mind, connect with my body, and align with my spirit and inner Self. I believe that every action we take leaves impressions and creates ripple effects beyond our imagination. I hope to make even the smallest of positive ripple effects in each student’s life by sharing a variety of holistic Yoga practices, weaving in Yoga philosophy, meditation, visualization, and therapeutic practices, all with the intention of empowering others to explore and connect with their own light. I have learned that Yoga helps reconnect the body, mind, heart, and spirit with Self-love, opening us up to realize that everything we need is right inside of us. The love and light in me honors and seeks to know the love and light in every human.
